For those of you who don’t already know, today is the support deadline for Windows XP. This means that’s after today Microsoft will no longer support XP. You’ll still be able to use it, however Microsoft will no longer distribute updates and patches for problems found in XP.
This may not sound like much for some people, but a computer still using Windows XP will now be a lot more vulnerable to viruses and hackers, meaning there is a large possibility that you could lose everything on your PC were something to happen to it.
Windows XP was released in 2001 and has been very popular with PC users. It’s thought that around a quarter of all PC users still use XP, despite Microsoft releasing three new operating systems since XP.
If you’re running a business and use XP, you should consider upgrading your computers if you haven’t already. If you’re not sure which operating system you would prefer to upgrade to or which would be best for you, speak to us and we’ll be more than happy to help.
